Per Pupil Expenditure
Why do we measure this?
In accordance with the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), the department has compiled the per-pupil expenditures data on behalf of Oklahoma school districts and schools. This per-pupil expenditure data is based on program cost data submitted by school districts and is provided for federal, state and local funds, disaggregated by source of funds.
What was measured?
Data displayed here is comprised of expenditures for the day-to-day operation of schools and local educational agencies (LEAs), including, but not limited to, expenditures for instruction, administration, instructional support, and operation and maintenance of plant.

School Improvement 1003a Funding: Comprehensive Support & Improvement
Oklahoma is committed to the theory of action that all students can grow, and all schools can improve and recognizes that some schools may need more support. Oklahoma identified schools for Comprehensive Support and Improvement (CSI) if they scored in the bottom 5% of all schools, received an F on their overall report card grade, or had graduation rates of 67% or lower. More information on CSI designations can be found here.
To support their improvement, CSI schools work on a Continuous Improvement Cycle, receive federal funds to implement Continuous Improvement Plans, and are assigned a School Support Specialist. Visit the Office of School Support's website for all schools identified for comprehensive or targeted support and improvement, amount of federal funds allocated, and a detailed improvement plan.
