Why is the Graduation indicator important?

High school graduation is an essential milestone for students. Graduating from high school enables students to choose a future path that aligns with their talents and passions. All students deserve the opportunity to graduate high school, including those who may require longer than four years. This indicator provides information on how schools are supporting all students in attaining a high school diploma. More information about this indicator can be found at sde.ok.gov/oklahoma-report-card-resources.

Graduation

The Graduation indicator is comprised of two measures: the four-year graduation rate and a graduation improvement score. The improvement score is not a "rate" but rather a measure of students who graduated in their fifth (or sixth, beginning in the 2018-19) year.

The inclusion of this improvement score recognizes and celebrates schools' efforts to provide supports and services to students who may take longer than four years to graduate.

Composite indicator value shows the percentage of points earned for supporting students at graduating in four, five or six years when compared to other schools.

The 4Y, 5Y and 6Y indicator components show the four, five and six year graduation rates for the school respectively .
